Where is Mount Everest?

Known as the highest mountain in the world Mount Everest is situated between the border of Nepal and Tibet. It is located at the Solukhumbu district of Nepal. Mount Everest consists of a height of 8,848 meters. On the Tibetan side, Mount Everest is located in Tingri County in the Xigaze area, which China considers to be an autonomous region and part of the People’s Republic of China.

“Sagarmatha” is the Nepali name of Mt. Everest and the Tibetan name is Chomolungma, which means “Mother Goddess of the World.” Edmund Hillary (a mountaineer from New Zealand) and his Tibetan guide Tenzing Norgay were the first people to climb Everest for the first time in 1953. British Surveyors Sir George Everest was the first person to hold the record by measuring the exact height of Everest in 1856.

Climbing the Everest has become a popular expedition for every mountaineer. However, climbing Everest is one of the difficult tasks to complete. Climbing Everest needs to have strong jerks, well-experienced, good health, equipment, and a well-experienced guide. Heavy rainfall, snow, and ice can cause different natural calamities like Avalanches.

Most of the trekkers are not familiar at high altitudes and low oxygen levels. This is the main way people used to call Everest above 8,000 meters as “Death Zone”. So that you need to carry an oxygen bottle with you during your trek. Some of the trekkers might be suffering from Altitude sickness and even brain swelling too.

How Much Does it Cost to Everest Base Camp and Climb Mount Everest?

Planning to Everest is one of the most expensive trekking in Nepal. As per the government of Nepal, you will be charged $11,000 per climber.

For having an amazing trek to you need to hire a well-experienced guide and porter to carry your belongings. The price of the guide and porter varies according to season. Also, if you hire a good license guide and porter from the company then prices are quite similar. Likewise, you need to pay $30-$40. In case if you buy local guides and porter then you have to pay $20-$30 per day.

Also, you have to pay for different permits, trekking equipment, food, and accommodation. For this, you have to pay $ per person for the whole trek. Besides this, you must have your travel insurance. On the way, if you want to give tips for anyone then it is free for you. Also, if you want to donate some amount of money during your trek then it depends upon your choice.

Trekking route in Everest region

There are several options to explore the different routes in the Everest region. You can experience the amazing view of mountains, glaciers, landscapes, and awesome hills. Besides this, you can explore Sagarmatha National Park during your trek. Some of the endangered animals like snow leopard, musk deer, red panda, Himalayan Thar can be spotted in this region.

Everest Base Camp Kala Patthar Trek

This is the most popular tourist attraction place in the Everest region. Everest Base Camp is in the elevation of 5,600 meters and Kalapathhar is in the elevation of 5,644.5 meters. Walking through these routes, you’re guaranteed to have unique cultural experiences and interactions with the locals about the local lifestyle, occupation, and many more. During this trek, you will explore the biggest and oldest monasteries of the Khumbu region, Tengboche monastery, and many more.

On this trek, you will hike nearly 14 days continuously. During this time you will be friends with amazing mountains along with Local people. Autumn and Spring are the best two seasons to visit this place. For this trek, you will pay $ per person for your whole trek including permits, food, and accommodation.

Gokyo Lake Trek

Gokyo Lake Trek is less crowded and exotic trails in the Everest region which are done 10 days. For those trekkers who want to visit the face of Everest then Gokyo Lake Trek is the best option for you. Gokyo valley is famous for five different glacial lakes. During sunrise and sunset, you will observe the amazing view of lakes. These lakes will provide you relief and help you to avoid your problem.

On this trek, you will hike to the highest point at Gokyo Ri (5,357 meters) which offers you the amazing view of  Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Thamserku, and other several peaks. Also, you will observe the Ngozumpa glacier which is the biggest glaciers in Nepal. For this trek, you need to pay $ per person. This trekking is also best during Autumn and Spring.

Everest Three High Pass Trek

On this trek, you will cross through 3 different difficult passes in Nepal. i.e, Kongma La Pass (5,335 meters), Cho La Pass (5,420 meters), and Renjo La Pass (5,340 meters). During this trek, you can explore both the Khumbu and Gokyo region on the same route. Observing the awesome view of Ama Dablam glaciers along with other several peaks make you feel near the mountains.

Everest Three High Pass Trek is 17 days long trek. Passing through different trails, you can observe the amazing view of Himalayas. Along with this, you will walk through the salt trade route up to Thame. This trek is suitable for any season except winter. During this time, trails are covered by snow and might be heavy rainfall and might cause different natural calamities. However, do follow the instruction of your guide and enjoy your trip.
